Itinerary
Day 1: Hanoi – Ba Be National Park (Lunch, Dinner)
Your guide and private driver will pick you up at your hotel in Hanoi around 7:30 – 8:00 AM. The drive to Ba Be National Park takes about 4.5 hours through scenic countryside. Upon arrival, enjoy a warm welcome with a cup of local green tea at Ba Be Legend Hotel, followed by lunch.
In the afternoon, board a boat to explore Ba Be Lake, formed 200 million years ago and surrounded by limestone cliffs and primary forest. Continue along the Nang River to visit Ban Cam Village, home to the Tay ethnic group, before discovering the spectacular Puong Cave, a 300-meter-long limestone tunnel carved by the river. On the return, stop at Widow Island for swimming before heading back to your hotel for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 2: Trekking in Ba Be National Park (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
After breakfast, set off on a full-day trek (14–16 km). Begin at Na Kieng Village, where the Tay people farm rice and corn using traditional methods. Continue into Na Co Valley, meeting friendly Dao schoolchildren along the way, and enjoy panoramic rice terrace views.
Take a picnic lunch on Wildflowers Mountain (blooming in winter), then trek onward to Don Den Village, home to the H’Mong community. Their curious yet welcoming nature often makes for memorable cultural exchanges. Return to your hotel in Ba Be in the late afternoon for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 3: Ba Be National Park – Hanoi (Breakfast, Lunch)
Start the day with a visit to Pac Ngoi Village, known for its traditional Tay stilt houses. Continue to Hua Ma Cave, a dry cave filled with impressive stalactites and stalagmites, then refresh yourself at the Silver Waterfall and admire Na Le Rice Terraces.
After lunch at a local restaurant, begin your return to Hanoi, with scenic stops for photos along the way. You’ll arrive back at your hotel around 6:00 PM.
