Day 1: Hanoi – Thai Nguyen museum – Ba Be

In the morning, our companion and driver will pick you up by private car at your hotel in Hanoi around 7:30 – 8:00 AM. We’ll depart directly to Thai Nguyen city and stop at the Cultural Museum of Vietnamese Ethnic Groups. It’s surely worth stopping for at least an hour to have a perfect preface and excellent insight into ethnic societies, way of life, and tradition. Take first-hand experience to see lovely examples of ethnic minority costumes, other vestiges from their day-to-day lives, and applicable photos; all just a joy to look at. Outdoors there are many examples of ethnic structures, including an amazing community house with the most astounding roof elevation. You’ll absolutely satisfy your curiosity. Later we will have lunch at an original eatery on the way to Ba Be public demesne and check into our hotel around pm. You can sunbathe at our hotel’s point.

Day 2: Boat trip in Ba Be Lake

After breakfast at your hotel, we’ll drive you to Ba Be Park. We’ll take a short journey through the dark jungle with a stylish lake view point and reach the levee to visit An Ma Temple, which is an islet in the lake. The boatman will take you along the lakeside to watch the bunches of ancient tree roots hanging down to the water. You’ll have a chance to see Rhesus macaques frequently come down to drink water and eat food. The lake has crystal clear water and is fairly deep, about 25m. At the end of the lake, we’ll continue our trip down Nang River. The boatman will stop at a riverside so you can visit a Tay ethnic village and walk through it to see how people work on their fields. We’ll have lunch at a nearby riverside eatery before continuing our trip. After lunch, we’ll move up the river to Puong Cave where you can enjoy the beauty of greenery. The cave is large with numerous giant stalactites and stalagmites, and in a dark corner is home to thousands of bats. Returning to the boat, we’ll visit Po Gia Mai Islet (Widow Islet). You can swim in the islet and stay for sunset. The boatman and original companion will take you back to your hotel.

Day 3: Trekking in Ba Be National Park

During our trek, we will pass through Na Kieng village where you can see Tay ethnic people working on their rice fields with traditional tools. You will also have a chance to learn about their culture. After a while, we will reach Na Co valley where you can say hello and goodbye to Dzao students. This area offers spectacular views of rice terraces stretching along the villages. Once we reach the top of the mountain, we will find a place for a picnic lunch. In the afternoon, we will continue hiking up and down to Đồn Đèn where H’Mong village is located. This group of people is super curious about you with friendly, bashful ways. They may come to you for a picture together. We will return back to the hotel and have dinner (15-16km of trek).

Day 4: Ba Be National Park – Hanoi

After breakfast at your hotel, we’ll visit some charming townlets. On the way, you’ll pass by Pac Ngoi Village, which is a typical example of traditional support-house architecture. You’ll also visit Hua Ma Cave, a dry delve with thousands of stalactites and stalagmites. After exploring the cave, we’ll head to Silver Waterfall where you can spend some time visiting and relaxing by this refreshing waterfall. Afterward, your driver will take you back to your hotel for lunch. After lunch, we will take you back to Hanoi. On the way back, we’ll stop so you can take some nice photos of the rice and melon terraced fields surrounding you. We’ll finish our trip back in Hanoi and drop you off at your hotel around 6 pm.
