OFFICIAL VISIT OF PERLIS STATE GOVERNMENT, MALAYSIA, TO BA BỂ NATIONAL PARK

From December 18 to 20, 2024, the Management Board of Ba Bể National Park hosted and worked with a delegation from the Perlis State Government, Malaysia, who visited to learn, explore, and study at Ba Bể National Park.

The purpose of the visit was to explore approaches to management, operations, and sustainable development strategies implemented by Ba Bể National Park. The delegation examined solutions undertaken at the park, community involvement in nature conservation and biodiversity efforts, as well as the development of eco-tourism in the area. Official discussions were held between the delegation and the Management Board of Ba Bể National Park to understand the park’s biodiversity values, its programs and activities, and the methodologies applied to achieve recognition as an ASEAN Heritage Park (AHP). The discussions also covered the integration of the park into national and regional conservation networks.

After learning about the park’s resource management, biodiversity conservation, environmental programs, and eco-tourism activities at the headquarters, the delegation conducted field visits to explore livelihood development models based on biodiversity in the buffer zone of Ba Bể National Park. These included honey value chains and the Bo Khai (a local edible plant) value chain.

The delegation also spent time engaging in eco-tourism, experiencing the unique culture, and enjoying the culinary specialties of Ba Bể National Park.

Ba Bể National Park, home to a diverse and rich natural resource base with the distinct characteristics of Northeast Vietnam, is one of Vietnam’s 12 ASEAN Heritage Parks. With its pristine and unspoiled natural environment, Ba Bể National Park has become a destination for study, exploration, and learning for both domestic and international visitors.

In the future, the Management Board of Ba Bể National Park aims to expand its collaborations and development activities to further establish the park as a valuable site for meaningful visits, educational programs, and immersive experiences.
